MARCELO D. BECCACECI
Marcelo Beccaceci is one of Argentina's foremost conservationists and photographers, whose work focuses on the preservation of endangered South American mammals. A wildlife veterinarian educated at La Plata University, Buenos Aires, Beccaceci is a member of the Species Survival Commission, World Conservation Union (IUCN), Switzerland. He has also guided expeditions in Patagonia, Iguazú and Iberá for over ten years. Beccaceci has been a contributor to Argentina's magazine, Tiempo de Aventura, and publications in the country.
Natural Patagonia / Patagonia natural: Argentina & Chile (1998) is his most recent book for PANGAEA; previously he co-authored Patagonia Wilderness (1991). He also helped produce our Patagonia poster, El fin del mundo / The End of the Earth, illustrated by Argentine wildlife artist Aldo Chiappe. Beccaceci is also editor and publisher of Patagonia & Antartida: Guia de campo / Patagonia & Antarctica: Field Guide; National Parks of Patagonia (Argentina) / Parques nacionales de la Patagonia; Darwin en Patagonia: Un viaje fotográfico / Darwin in Patagonia: A Photographic Journey and Soldados de Noé: La conservación de la fauna silvestre en la Argentina: all published in Argentina.
